Thank You to Nutro Dog Food Company with their volunteers

and ours for a successful clean-up day at the park!

Jennifer Ketola form Nutro lead the team of volunteers

as they worked through the park cleaning up debris, dog poop,

trimming cabbage palms and general over growth.

Nutro generously donated 4 new pooper scoopers

and a new broom for the pavilion!  Nutro has also become

one of our sustaining sponsors for a poop bag station!!

Dog Wash Area

The City dropped off a big pile of mulch for the park, so with the help from my tractor and some volunteers, we spread the mulch around the dog wash area in hopes of keeping everyone from having to step into the mud after a nice clean bath.

Thanks to Nash Hoover and his Dad Pierce,

as well as Circuit Court Judge Marc Lubet,

we got it done... hope it helps!

On 8-4-10, we added some stepping stones to walk off from the wash area,

again... hope it helps!

4 Paws Up for Randy!

Thank you to Randy for his brilliant idea to cover the sign poles down by the waters edge with PVC pipe.

Randy brought to our attention that dogs were running into the medal sign poles by the water, and some had gotten hurt.  Randy contacted FFPP with his idea to cover them in PVC to help protect our dogs from potential injury.

He not only had a great idea, he brought the supplies, gave of his time, and we got it done!  Randy has been a big supporter and user of the park, and we appreciate you!  Big thanks to Nash Hoover (intern Board Member) who is always there to help out.

We have a Celebrity Dog Among Us!

While I was at the park taking pictures as I often do, I ran into Arron. He asked if I had taken a picture of his dog Zoey yet, and promised me that if I did it would drive business to the website...I figured that was worth a shot or 2!  We got to talking and I found out that his dog is already famous, she is featured on the package for Eukanuba Wild Breed dog food.  I thought that was pretty special!

I went to the website for Eukanuba, and sure enough there she is, bottom right corner.  Zoey is a Beautiful German Short Hair Pointer, she is 1yr 8mo's, and is a great picture poser too, only my camera batteries ran out!  Thanks Arron and Zoey!

A New Dog Park Opens in Winter Springs

And it didn't come easily!

Hound Ground will open 3-27-10.  It took 10 years of campaigning the City!

This new 2.5 acre park will have some doggie playground equipment, and will open to the public with a dog parade, lessons on dog park etiquette and an agility course. That sounds like fun!

Its interesting to note a comment from a realestate agent that said "a dog park can be a selling point" in a community. I think we all realize the importance of our beautiful Fleet Peeples Park.  Check out Hound Ground if your in that area, and tell us about it.

We salute Bob Rucci and the City of Winter Springs.

Located next to Central Winds Park, 1000 E. SR 434, Winter Springs

There are a lot of 'Meet Up Groups' that get together at FPP!

This was the Bulldog MeetUp on 2-20-10, they grunt, they snort, and surprisingly

they move pretty quickly.. it was hard to capture focused shots.

A Fun and Funny group!  For more info go to www.meetup.com/mybulldog

It was Really Cold Sunday the 13th for the Beagle Meet Up, but they came

and they came to be heard! They are a noisy group...

you can't help but love that beagle howl.

A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS.........

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

Health, Hope, Love and Joyfulness...
